Greenland Reports Decline in Imports and Rise in Exports in the Third Quarter of 2025

18.december 2025

According to preliminary data from Greenland Statistics, Greenland’s foreign trade showed a mixed trend in the third quarter of 2025. Imports fell by 6.1% compared to the same period last year, while exports increased by 3.4%.

The trade balance for the third quarter of 2025 ended with a deficit of DKK 513 million. However, the figures are preliminary and should be interpreted with caution. In particular, transactions in SITC category 7 (machinery and transport equipment) could significantly affect the results once purchases of ships and aircraft by shipping companies are fully incorporated.

Export values rose to DKK 4,415 million in the third quarter of 2025, up from DKK 4,271 million in the same period in 2024, an increase of DKK 145 million. Adjustments in machinery and transport equipment are expected to further refine these figures.
